Pokemon: The Unorthodox Trainer

Synopsis: Pokemon / Pocket Monsters / Pocket Monsters / Pokemon [Anime-focused] [No harem] [A nontraditional, darker take on the Pokemon world] [Hunter J] [Disrupted by the Great Love Alliance of Heaven and Earth] [No special background, an ordinary Trainer] [Original characters] [Set in an earlier period] [Self-serving protagonist, not a saint] What is good? What is evil? Dongye Xin doesn't know. Or rather, he used to know, but now he doesn't. In this world, some people fight tooth and nail, get half their bodies torn apart by a terrifying Gyarados, and still can't get a Starter Pokémon. Others grow up alongside a pseudo-legendary Pokemon from childhood. Surviving in a chaotic world ruled by various factions and rife with supernatural powers is difficult. And for a hunter who lives by the edge of a blade, staying alive is even harder. As an unregistered Trainer at the bottom of society, you have two choices. Spend your whole life keeping your head down, letting your life turn into a pool of mud. Or risk everything, crawling upward like a filthy rat by stepping on other rats. Keep Poison-type Pokémon penned together and raise them in a brutal struggle for survival. Train the most despised Poison-type, Dark-type, and Ghost-type Pokémon. Cut out the core of a Water-type Pokémon just to save your own life and treat a burn. We are Pokemon Hunters and black-market traders. The Jenny Family and the League see us as vermin. Team Rocket, Team Galactic, Team Aqua, and the Hunter organizations see us as expendable. Whatever happens, remember this. We are people who want to survive and live better lives. Only after that are we Trainers!
