Jiang Zili, the Martial Arts Fanatic

Fifteen-year-old Jiang Zili is obsessed with getting a training outfit like Bruce Lee’s and has her head full of martial arts movie moves. But a single punch during a street fight shatters her fantasies. The bruises on her sternum and the humiliation she can hardly put into words spark a true passion for martial arts in this stubborn girl with amber eyes. She has no master to guide her, only short-video tutorials and a homemade punching bag. She has no orthodox techniques, only the “Zili School’s wild boxing,” practiced with every ounce of her strength. From stumbling through horse stance to developing blood blisters on the wooden dummy, and from fighting alone to joining forces with her adorable, spider-phobic best friend and a street girl with a story behind her, she uses her fists to break free of the “good-for-nothing” label and lets every bruise mark her progress. This is no tale of a grandmaster made overnight. It is the fiery beginning of three girls who, through sweat and pain, turn wild punches into confidence and friendship into armor.
