The Whole School Thinks We’re Trying to Assassinate Each Other

At Shengying Academy, everyone agrees on one thing: Gu Yan and Lin Che were born to be enemies. One is always ranked first in the year, serves as vice president of the student council, comes from a prominent family, and is an untouchable beauty, perfect as a walking iceberg. The other transferred in and immediately took second place, excels at every sport, has a mysterious background, and is a short fuse ready to blow at the slightest touch. Their war began at the opening ceremony, where they stood side by side to give speeches without exchanging a word. From then on, the whole class witnessed their endless clashes: In class, one gives a flawless answer, and the other is sure to scoff. After class, one heads to the library, and the other makes a beeline for the court. One’s lunch is a work of art, while the other’s is always loaded with calories. Even at the school shop, bottled water and cola somehow manage to spark an invisible war. The entire school is convinced these two big shots will eventually settle things in a rooftop showdown, where one of them will come out alive and the other won’t. But no one knows On a rundown rooftop where nobody can see them, they quietly share the same patch of sunlight. The mint candy one snatched so roughly hides someone’s awkward attempt at showing concern. When they find themselves alone for a moment in the changing room after gym class, the air inexplicably grows warmer. And every heated, fiercely competitive “attempt to kill each other” may just be two idiots trying with all their might to get the other’s attention. When the mask of “mortal enemies” is accidentally torn away, the whole school is stunned: You call this trying to kill each other?! This is obviously a mutual crush of epic proportions!
