A Clichéd Tale of Slaying Your Wife to Prove the Dao

I stood by him through every hardship, and he went from a penniless boy to the greatest cultivator under heaven.

Then that bastard believed some nonsense about “proving the Dao by killing his wife” and ran me through with his sword to ascend to immortality.

I died, and he didn't become an immortal. Instead, he went completely mad.

But I was lucky enough not to be entirely dead.

The cultivation world is too dangerous. A peaceful life among ordinary people is far more comfortable.

Now everyone under heaven is asking when I'll take his life.

I won't.

Death would be too easy for him.

I want him to watch helplessly as his sect, his reputation, and everything he cares about rot away bit by bit.

I want him on his knees before me, admitting with his own lips that he was wrong.

But when a world-ending calamity strikes, that bastard nearly loses his soul saving me...

I grip my knife. Should I still take my revenge?
