An Absurd Marriage

Nine times out of ten, when life goes wrong, it’s because you’re short on money.

A life in the wilderness, struggling to survive at the bottom.

Hardship always seems to torment the poor, honest souls.

Xin Xin lived up to her name, pursuing her little dreams with optimism: saving enough to buy a small home and live in peace.

Relying on yourself is better than relying on others. Xin Xin made her living alone in the bustling city, happy and content.

Then disaster struck. During an ordinary shopping trip, she ran into someone she shouldn’t have, and from then on, her life was no longer in her own hands.

Yuan Ye had a carefree life and did as he pleased. Apart from the stigma attached to being gay, life had given him almost every advantage.

As the only son, Yuan Ye had no choice but to plan for a marriage and children under pressure from his family.

But finding a suitable marriage partner proved incredibly difficult.

An unexpected surprise came out of nowhere: Yuan Ye was knocked into by Xin Xin, and he had found his bride.

Xin Xin was stunned by Yuan Ye’s proposal and forced to marry a stranger and have his child.

Xin Xin kept her head down and lived quietly, while Yuan Ye carried on with the carefree life he’d always led.

Fate always seemed to pick on kind, honest people. Xin Xin was hurt time and again, with no way to escape.

Beyond the basic guilt he felt as a human being, Yuan Ye stood by and watched with cold indifference.

When Xin Xin fell ill, Yuan Ye looked after her out of a sense of duty.

But where should they go from here? How should they get there? They could only take things one step at a time.

Life offered no solutions, only misunderstandings. The two of them waited for an answer, wondering how to solve the problem.
