I Told You to Play a Murder Mystery, Not to Actually Become the Chongzhen Emperor

Lin Chen was playing a murder-mystery game based on the Chongzhen Emperor's reign. He had just finished complaining that the emperor had squandered a winning hand when he opened his eyes and found himself as the real Chongzhen Emperor, in the seventeenth year of his reign! Li Zicheng's forces were at the gates, the Later Jin watched hungrily from the sidelines, the court was full of corrupt scholars and treacherous eunuchs, and the treasury was so empty even rats could run through it. Before long, he'd be hanging from a crooked tree on Coal Hill! Luckily, he brought along his memories from reviewing the game, and knew all the plot twists and clues. He struck down the traitors, reformed the bureaucracy, raised military funds, and trained a powerful army! The ministers were astonished: Why does His Majesty seem to have cheats enabled? The Later Jin panicked: How did the Ming suddenly become so strong? Li Zicheng wailed: This war is impossible to win! Lin Chen held his forehead. I was playing a murder-mystery game. I wasn't supposed to become the real Chongzhen and keep him alive!
