On the Day the Engagement Was Broken, the Mad Tyrant Took Me as His Beloved

Rumor has it that Emperor Xie Linyuan of Great Zhou suffers from a wandering-soul affliction. He is vicious and bloodthirsty, and no one dares come within three feet of him.

On the day Jiang Yici was publicly jilted by her fiancé, her family even planned to send her to serve as a eunuch's companion.

In despair, she took out the jade hairpin she had used to save someone's life years ago and tremblingly broke into the forbidden palace to beg for protection.

She thought he was merely a powerful noble, but instead stumbled upon a floor drenched in blood.

She turned to flee, but a bloodstained hand clamped around her ankle.

The man's eyes were blood-red, like those of a demon. “Got you, my medicine.”

Jiang Yici became the tyrant's only cure. As long as she was by his side, the madman could sleep peacefully.

At first, all she wanted was to survive, so she carefully tried to please him.

Later, the entire capital waited for him to grow tired of her and have her killed.

Then, at a palace banquet, everyone saw the arrogant emperor drop to one knee and kiss her swollen, reddened eyelids with adoration, coaxing her softly:

“Good girl, Cici. Call me husband one more time, and I'll give you my life.”
