1662: I, Zheng Jing, Am Optimizing the Qing Dynasty Online

[History] [System] [Corporate Jargon] [Misinterpretation Comedy] [Power Fantasy]

At 38, Liu Yuhao is laid off, divorced, and left with nothing in the modern workplace. After a car accident, he becomes Zheng Jing, heir to the Prince of Yanping, who has just lost his father in 1662.

He appears refined and courteous, but is shrewd and seasoned beneath the surface, skilled at stabbing with the sharpest words wrapped in the politest manner.

His golden finger is the “Workplace Comeback and Management Personification System.”

He sees the Southern Ming forces resisting the Qing as a “company on the verge of bankruptcy,” and the Qing court as a “client engaging in cutthroat competition.”

Using modern workplace tactics like “managing upward” and “accommodating downward,” he first purges internal traitors with a “rank-and-yank” policy, then binds the powerful clans of the southeast to his cause through “shareholding reform.” In the middle of the story, he uses “industrial standards” to build armories, then sweeps away the Eight Banners with the overwhelming advantage of massed volley fire. In the end, he builds a republic amid the ruins and achieves the true rejuvenation of the nation.
