The Mirror Hag

This is not a power fantasy! This is not a power fantasy! This is not a power fantasy! Slow burn! Villain protagonist!!! Lots of grim realities!!!!!!! Seriously, this is not a power fantasy! A century of offerings, paid for in human lives! In 1835, twelve-year-old Chen Dabao followed his father and the others to rob the tomb of Chen Qingshan, a deceased wealthy landowner. They had heard that the deaths of Chen Qingshan’s family were suspicious! But in a time when nobody had enough to eat, this landowner’s tomb supposedly held endless grain and more gold and silver than anyone could spend. Most importantly, it contained that eerie mirror! Behind the scenes, plenty of people had already quietly spread the word: whoever got their hands on the mirror would receive a load of fine grain! To stay alive, Chen Dabao and the others set out down that road of no return in the dead of night! This novel is planned to have six volumes. Most of them will have male protagonists, but two are expected to feature female protagonists! Overall, though, it should mostly be an ensemble story! Volume One: The Three Surnames’ Calamity, currently being written, first person Volume Two: Resentment in Red, female protagonist Volume Three: Xu Yanwu Volume Four: Shallow Bay Case: The Cave of Pleasure, expected to have a female protagonist Volume Five: Crescent Moon Apartments Volume Six: The Bond Between Master and Disciple Volume Seven: The Mirror Hag’s Account, tentative
