Tales of the Dark River: Danxi's Travels

Volume One: Tales of the Dark River: I Became a System... (In my story, the younger brother is his biological brother, not adopted.) Su Changli wanders with his older brother. Later, his brother tells him he’ll take him somewhere they can get enough to eat, and so they arrive at the Dark River. But the place turns out to be terrifying. They provide food and lodging, but not a guarantee you’ll stay alive! Luckily, he doesn’t know what “scam” means, or he’d really think he’d run into a con artist. Then one day, a voice suddenly speaks in his mind. It belongs to a girl, who says she’s here to help him and his brother. In the original timeline, he dies young, and his brother dies too. His brother also falls out with the person he loves, and they end up separated by life and death. A few years later, his brother’s beloved dies by suicide as well. He doesn’t quite understand how she plans to help him. But he knows she’s saying that he and his brother meet tragic ends, so when his brother returns, he goes to find him... Dear readers, this book went through several experiments with different titles, and the author only kept two: <Tales of the Dark River: Dan Xi’s Travelogue> and <Tales of the Dark River: I Became Su Changli’s System!> In the end, the second title won, so as of today, the book’s title has been changed to <Tales of the Dark River: I Became Su Changli’s System!> The original story’s plot is only briefly covered. This is an ensemble cast, so the protagonist may not get as much page time sometimes. The planned pairings are Dan Li/Mu Chang, Yang Wei/Mo Sheng, Ye Bai/Se Jie, and Jian An.
