Synopsis

As the saying goes, transmigrators come and go, but the Lei-style builders endure. The Lei-style builders who fix up courtyards for transmigrators in every sort of siheyuan should be able to transmigrate too, shouldn’t they? Lei Fuhong, an unemployed drifter, wakes up one morning to find an extra door in his home. He soon discovers that he can use it to enter the era of the legendary, bird-filled siheyuan. Most of the time, the protagonist watches from the sidelines, laughing as transmigrators ruthlessly take down the courtyard’s pests. Occasionally, he steps in himself. Everyone has their own way of doing things, and some transmigrators choose to join the pests if they can’t beat them, but they’ll never have to swallow their pride and put up with abuse. No need to worry that once you’ve finished off one, there won’t be another to deal with. The only constant is Lei-style, fixing up houses: he earns money from transmigrators by day, watches them clash with the courtyard pests, and enjoys himself back in the modern world at night.
