Temporary Hire for the Three Realms: I'm a Bug

Xie You was an ordinary university student in Guiyang, until an "accident" while saving a teacher awakened the truth: he was the reincarnation of a fragment of the soul of Xie Wuyang, the evil cultivator known as the Yinshan Ancestor from the Ming dynasty. This ancient being had been annihilated by the righteous sects' "psychic nuclear explosion" in the cataclysmic Tianqi explosion, an event that shocked history.

Now, the Three Realms Balance Bureau considers him a threat that must be monitored, while the mysterious organization known as the End of Dharma Society seeks to collect the fragments and resurrect the Ancestor. Beneath the moonlight at Jiaxiu Tower and amid the neon lights of the big data center, Xie You and his companions, including scholar Hua Yue, who hosts the spirit of an ancient tea tree, and Xuan Ying, the last surviving heir of the Shadow Sect, are drawn into a fateful entanglement spanning four centuries.

He must use powers inherited from the dark Ancestor to protect the light. In Guiyang, a mountain city where the magical and the mundane intertwine, he faces the hardest choice of all: become the perfect vessel his past life longed for, or embrace the flaws of a fragmented soul and forge a third path of his own?
