This Tyrant Has No Decency and Is Determined to Get Himself Killed

Reborn as an emperor, Ji Jingxing only wants to die in a suitably believable way so he can go back and inherit hundreds of billions in family wealth!

And so begins his mad campaign to get himself killed:

He insults the Empress Dowager, picks fights with the Empress, publicly tears into powerful ministers, and orders confiscations and executions at the slightest provocation!

The treasury is empty? Just confiscate some corrupt official’s property!

Students call him a tyrant? Then he’ll show them what a tyrant looks like!

Disaster relief funds have been embezzled? Send the corrupt official and his whole family to the grave!

Ji Jingxing happily waits to be deposed and sentenced to death, only to realize things are getting more and more out of hand...

The corrupt officials whose estates he confiscated really were hiding mountains of silver, and the common people hail him as wise!

The poor scholars he promoted against convention turn out to be brilliant statesmen, and the government is transformed!

Even the Empress Dowager, whom he berated, hands him evidence against the powerful ministers: “Your Majesty, I’m with you!”

And most unbelievable of all, the artsy Empress who once wanted to jump into Taiye Lake starts writing poems praising him:

“Your heart, a sword that strikes the wicked down; I’ll stay by your side until our hair turns white...”

Ji Jingxing panics. “Wait! I’m a tyrant! You’re supposed to rebel! You’re supposed to storm the palace!”

The entire court drops to its knees, weeping: “Your Majesty is a wise ruler for the ages! We pledge our lives to you!”

The enemy nations at the border are terrified: “The Xia Emperor is brutal. We’d better surrender...”

Watching himself grow ever more secure on the Dragon Throne, Ji Jingxing cries out in despair:

“I just wanted to go home and inherit the family fortune! Why are you all forcing me to become a wise ruler?!”
