Exorcising Demons in America, Starting with a Physical Sending-Off

After transmigrating to America, where supernatural forces are resurging, Lin Xiu inherits an antique shop in Chinatown and an exorcist's legacy rooted in "science." He soon discovers that the business isn't quite what he expected. When faced with a century-old vengeful spirit haunting a house, his fellow exorcists draw talismans and chant spells, readying themselves for battle. Lin Xiu quietly calculates the building's load-bearing structure, then pulls out a block of C4. "If we take care of the source of the haunting, the house, then it won't be haunted anymore, right?" When faced with a mirror demon tormenting a young woman, a priest sprinkles holy water and prays to God. Lin Xiu hefts a Barrett and loads a dragon's-breath round. "If we smash the mirror, it won't have anywhere to live, right?" FBI Paranormal Investigations: "Target codename: Demolition Crew. Extremely dangerous. Recommend evacuating everyone within a three-kilometer radius before making contact!" The Holy See of Vatican City: "We're still discussing theology, and he's already researching how to physically disintegrate divinity!" The Devil of Hell: "Can someone tell me why an ordinary mortal is tearing through the Seventh Layer of Hell with a modified Gatling gun?!" Faced with the supernatural world's astonishment, Lin Xiu shrugged, looking completely innocent. "It's just an exorcism. Why make it so complicated? After all, there's no vengeful spirit that one RPG can't take care of. And if there is, use two."
