NBA: A Point Guard’s Body, a Center’s Soul!

The protagonist, Lu Chen, is a Chinese point guard just 1.80 meters tall. In the 1996 NCAA, his lack of physical strength makes him struggle at every turn. Just as he is about to give up on his basketball dream, he unexpectedly activates the [Mismatch Master System]. The System has an unusual feature: it only loads the Host with superstar templates that are the complete opposite of his own physical profile. So the undersized guard Lu Chen starts out with the template of “Peak Jokic”! He doesn’t get Jokic’s height or weight, but he inherits his god-tier passing vision and basketball IQ, along with the playmaking and shooting skills of a center. An unprecedented monster of a player is born: a center’s mind in a guard’s body. On the court, Lu Chen is the strangest player around. He runs like a guard but surveys the entire court from a center’s perspective, delivering pinpoint passes that span the length of the floor. He can cross over like Iverson, then take the next step by setting up a play at the free-throw line, directing his teammates’ movement. When opponents think he’s about to shoot a three, he might instead spin toward the basket, use a big man’s footwork to shake off his defender, and dish out a perfect bounce pass. An NBA underdog drafts him in the second round, and at first everyone treats him like a joke. But before long, every team that underestimated him pays dearly. With a basketball IQ ahead of his time, Lu Chen becomes the undisputed brains of the court. The System will also unlock more templates based on his “mismatch performances.”
