Chang'an in Turmoil: The City Drenched in Golden Armor

As a young secret agent of the prosperous Tang Dynasty, hunted by killers, I carry a secret token capable of overturning the dynasty.

With the whole city in turmoil, I choose to hide in the most dangerous place of all: the victory banquet personally attended by the emperor.

At the lavish feast, I see my sworn enemy arrive as promised, with a glittering army of thousands behind him.

He says, “Tonight, this imperial city gets a new master.”

I lower my eyes to the fake golden-armored soldiers’ command tally in my hand, knowing that the genuine token for mobilizing the troops is already hidden away.

So I smile and reply, “Then you’ll have to ask it first, and see if it agrees.”
