The Little Chef Prodigy Cuts Ties with Her Family, Then Takes Her Mom to the Military Base at Night to Find Her Dad

[1980s + food + adorable child + military officer father + dad’s quest to win back his wife] Tangtang, the head chef of the imperial kitchen, opens her eyes to find herself a pitiful three-and-a-half-year-old in the 1980s, “abandoned” by her own father. Her mother, Su Wanrou, hugs her and sobs. Tangtang rants to herself: [Why are you crying, Mom? That heartless man had his letters intercepted by a petty villain. He’s in the army, missing you so much his hair’s falling out! Let’s cook something delicious and head to the capital to settle the score!] In the next instant, Su Wanrou’s expression changes! Tangtang serves up a “last meal,” and after the shameless uncle’s whole family sneaks a taste, they go crying to the police station to turn themselves in. On the way, she picks up a prickly little boy. Tangtang thinks: [Well, well, isn’t this the future villain who’ll turn the capital upside down, a crazed obsessive? I’ll recruit him as a firewood boy for now, then make him my bodyguard when he grows up!] Little villain Ling Ye: ??? She heard that! He decides... to mooch a meal first. When they reach the military base, Tangtang continues her running commentary in front of her stern commander father: [Dad, pay attention! Your wife’s about to be stolen by your comrade!] Lei Zhen’s eyes nearly pop out of his head. From then on, he commands troops by day and takes care of his daughter by night, guarding against both fire and theft, especially “Old Wang.” He thinks he’s raising a soft and adorable little girl, only to discover that all the big shots at the base have become her regular customers. Even foreign delegations are clamoring to become her students! At home, Commander Lei is reduced to washing vegetables and dishes, and his daughter still scolds him: “Dad, it’s like you didn’t even wash this bowl. Don’t think you’re getting into Mom’s bed tonight!”
