For more than a decade, he has cared for her day after day, spoiling her until she became delicate and dependent. Everyone says they are childhood sweethearts, but only Gu Yanci knows that beneath his careful devotion lies an obsession and possessiveness that have long since spiraled out of control. He cannot stand anyone looking at her with longing, nor can he bear to see her suffer even the slightest grievance. But when the gentle Lu Jingran quietly draws near, hoping to give her a different kind of warmth, and the spoiled Shen Ruoyao, who is in love with him, starts picking on Su Qinghuan, their peaceful daily life is disrupted. His determination to protect her has never wavered.
