The Last Warmth: City Resonance

In 2077, in the megacity of Xinhai, technology connects everything, yet keeps people apart. Lin Zhou is a corporate drone and a community technician on the verge of being replaced by AI. After an accident, his AR glasses develop a strange “glitch”: he can “see” people’s emotions. Loneliness is a gray mist, joy a golden light, and anger crimson thorns.

Is this a gift from heaven, or a curse of data?

From helping an elderly neighbor escape the hassles of a “smart home” to mediating family disputes in cyberspace, Lin Zhou uses his unusual ability to bring a little warmth to the cold steel jungle. But after he is accepted by a mysterious organization called the “Webweavers,” he discovers that beneath the city’s calm surface, a vast conspiracy is brewing to erase all emotions.

Tech giant Elysium Technologies is about to launch its “Harmony System,” promising to create a “perfect world” without conflict or sorrow. The price is that everyone will lose the ability to love and hate.

Should he choose the numbness of comfort, or embrace emotions that are real and painful?

As the cold flood of data threatens to swallow the last traces of humanity, Lin Zhou must make a choice and use his meager strength to sound a hopeful refrain across the city.
