The Memory Pawnshop: I Pawned My Grandmother’s Memories

I run a memory pawnshop, taking in the regrets of the world in exchange for promising futures, wealth, and anything else people desire. I’m cold and heartless, like a machine without a soul, until the day someone used every last one of my grandmother’s memories to forcibly take my shop.

Overnight, I was erased from the world. I had no home and no one who knew me. Even the word “Grandma” became a blank.

She told me: You’re not the owner of the pawnshop. You’re a memory vessel that was created. Your grandmother sealed away your past with a lifetime of memories and locked it away with her soul, all to keep you safe as you grew up.

And I forgot the person who loved me most, completely.

To find my grandmother, I venture into the corridors of memory, unravel a conspiracy that manipulates time, and fight the central intelligence devouring the entire city. The memories I pawned off have become my sharpest weapons; the kindness I forgot has become my strongest armor.

I used to pawn memories for profit. Now I stake my life and swear an oath in blood. I will remember her, protect her, and take back everything that belongs to us! This time, I will never forget!
