The Great Qian’s Number One Ball Demon Starts Reaping Fear as a Night Watchman

In the Great Qian Dynasty, cuju is all the rage. Everyone from the emperor to street vendors is obsessed with the game, and even major criminal cases and border disputes are settled by match results. The protagonist, Ye Xiao, is a night watchman who gets caught up in the “Headball Cuju Case,” involving a royal secret, and awakens the Negative Emotions System. He discovers that making opponents afraid, spectators angry, and nobles despair during a match earns him points that strengthen his body and senses.

To survive on a pitch rife with murderous threats, Ye Xiao becomes the “Demon of the Pitch.” Not only is his playing style vicious and underhanded, he also uses a night watchman's keen senses to solve a series of murders linked to cuju between matches. As he rises through the ranks, he discovers that the dynasty's “national sport” conceals a shocking plot to sacrifice the nation's destiny. He must use his feet to kick apart the rotten rules of the dynasty.
