Ascend the Throne Before You Slay the Dragon

In her previous life, she was Yun Wange, the innocent and carefree Seventh Princess of the Dayan Dynasty. She trusted treacherous men and gave her heart to the wrong man, only to see her country and family destroyed and be run through the heart by the very general she trusted most. As the city fell and flames consumed the sky, she finally realized that the love and loyalty she had believed in were nothing but a carefully woven deception.

The moment she closed her eyes in hatred, she suddenly opened them again, back at the age of sixteen.

This time, she would no longer be a pawn for others to manipulate. Treacherous ministers run rampant? Perfect, she will pull out every one of their claws. Her white-lotus of a royal sister is pretending to be pitiful? Come along, Your Highness will teach you what real acting looks like. An ambitious general still wants to become her prince consort? Sorry, her procession needs someone to lead the horses. How does that sound?

Faced with this decaying dynasty and its hidden dangers, Yun Wange smiled. With the realm as her board and all its people as her pieces, she would personally play a game that would shake the heavens.

“They all want to be emperor, but they don't know that what I want is to be the god who decides who becomes emperor.”

She cultivates ancient imperial arts and commands the dragon qi of the nation's fortune. She allies with future power brokers and gathers the world's brightest talents. Everyone thinks the Seventh Princess is frail and easy to bully, but none of them know that step by step, she is reforging this crumbling realm into an unrivaled power of her own.

But what is the deal with that aloof Daoist priest who died protecting her in her previous life, yet opposes her at every turn in this one?

“Daoist priest, our paths are different.”

“My path is the one beneath Your Highness's feet.”
