[Annual Hot Post: A Rundown of the Most Outrageous Ways to Die in Epoch]

Floor 1 (Anonymous Assassin):

“Thanks for the invite. I’m at the respawn point, just logged off. I got a little too trigger-happy out in the wilds and stabbed an idle ascetic. The moment my dagger touched him, my character was gone! Seriously, gone! The System told me, ‘Body instantly vaporized’!”

Floor 2 (Guild Leader):

“You should count yourself lucky. Our guild gathered five hundred mages and hit him with forbidden spells. All five hundred of our brothers dropped dead in perfect unison. The stream got shut down because the footage was too gruesome.”

Floor 3 (Eldritch God):

“…”

…

Xu Ji was reborn and awakened the SSS-rank talent ** [Thorn Throne]**.

Trait: Any damage taken is forcibly reduced to zero, and 10,000% true damage is reflected.

From then on, the game went completely off the rails.

Other players: dodging, kiting, pulling off extreme maneuvers.

Xu Ji: standing still, spacing out, begging you to hit him.

Surrounded by the gods, Xu Ji earnestly raised both hands:

“Everyone, calm down. We can talk this out.”

“For your own safety, put down your weapons. Whatever you do, don’t get rough.”

“I’m not begging for mercy… I’m trying to save your lives!”

(The blurb doesn’t do it justice. Read the story to see how a ‘benevolent’ peacemaker becomes the new world’s taboo simply by taking hits.)
