The ’60s Quest for Dad: A Beast-Talking Baby’s Fight to Survive

In her previous life, she was a veterinary doctor who lived among animals and died alone. An accident left her reborn as Su Ruoxi, a girl who had just turned five in the 1960s.

This was an era of hunger and scarcity, and a cruel battlefield where people’s hearts had grown cold. Her mother died in childbirth, and her family called her an “ill-omened wretch” who had caused her mother’s death. Her father was far away in a military district in the northwest, his fate unknown, and everyone treated her as an easy target, a “poor little thing.”

Her vicious grandmother beat and scolded her; her greedy uncle and aunt schemed against her; her cousins bullied her… When they cruelly sold her to human traffickers for a few taels of silver, the soul sleeping inside Su Ruoxi finally awakened.

Her innate ability to speak with animals was the only thing she could rely on in this cruel world.

“I’m cutting ties with you!”

In front of the whole village, the little girl’s voice rang out as she severed her family ties. With a small bundle on her back, she resolutely set off on the long journey of a thousand miles to find her father.

From the waterways of Jiangnan to the deserts of the northwest, she faces famine, evades traffickers, battles natural disasters, and witnesses the depths of human nature… She travels with loyal dogs and lone wolves, and befriends all manner of beasts.

This tiny girl carries one stubborn conviction in her heart: Find Dad and survive!

When, at last, she reaches the gates of the military district, battered and bruised, will the man who has appeared countless times in her dreams recognize his daughter, covered in dust? And how will she use her eyes, which can see through people and understand the language of animals, to stir up the entire military district?
