The Crown of Solitude

Every crown is forged in loneliness.

Wen Liran, daughter of Hong Kong Island’s richest man and heir to an old Beijing family, grew up isolated in the emotional cracks of her family. At twelve, she secured the means to stand on her own with a coldly worded shareholding agreement.

She was born with a remarkable gift: to her, a table tennis ball spinning at high speed looked like a movie in slow motion. With this extraordinary talent, she became an Olympic legend at fourteen, beginning an eleven-year reign of invincibility. She monopolized every gold medal and became an everlasting legend in the world of table tennis.

Medals, honors, wealth, adoration… The world placed her on a pedestal, but beneath that glittering crown lay a cold, barren emptiness no one could understand. She wandered through one romance after another, trying to find the warmth she’d missed in childhood, only to be reminded time and again of the loneliness buried deep in her bones.

When the applause finally faded, Wen Liran took off her crown and made a graceful exit. Only then did people realize that the queen who had conquered the world through loneliness had a realm far greater than a table tennis court.

This is a story about genius, glory, and the endless loneliness deep within. Watch as she stands atop the world and searches for the warmth that is truly her own.
