Three Kingdoms: I, Dong Huang, Am a Loyal Servant of the Han

“Lord Dong, His Majesty has heard that you spent the night in the imperial bed and secretly took in the late emperor's concubines. Is there any truth to this?”

“I, the general, did no such thing! Don't spread such nonsense. There must be treacherous men in court whispering slander.”

“Are you sure?”

“A ruler's word is his bond!”

“Lord Dong, you're putting me in a difficult position.”

Dong Huang clasped the envoy's hands tightly, offering gold, pearls, and precious jade as he spoke with heartfelt sincerity.

“I, the general, have always been a loyal servant of the Han. I upheld the state when it tottered on the brink and rescued the Son of Heaven from peril. Yet now petty men slander me.”
