This is a collection of representative works by Zheng Qin'an, a famous medical doctor in the late Qing Dynasty, including three of his heavyweight medical monographs: "The True Biography of Medical Principles", "Yuantong of Medical Methods" and "The Permanent Treatise on Febrile Diseases". These three books systematically expounded his medical thoughts of "supporting the Yang to save the adverse situation" and "treating the disease and seeking the root cause", and became an indispensable classic of the "Vulcan School" or "Fuyang School" of traditional Chinese medicine.
In "The True Biography of Medical Theory", Zheng Qin'an started from the perspective of yin and yang, qi and blood, and deficiency and excess, and proposed that "physicians first distinguish yin and yang, and then discuss prescriptions." In "Medical Methods Yuantong", he advocated that medical methods must "change according to people, time, and situations," emphasizing the method of change beyond methods; and in "Eternal Treatise on Febrile Diseases", he specialized in exogenous diseases and six meridians syndrome differentiation, integrating clinical practice experience with classical febrile disease theory, creating the characteristics of his school.
Reading this set of "Zheng Qin'an's Three Books on Medicine", you can not only get a glimpse of how a Qing Dynasty physician stood at the intersection of ancient medical tradition and clinical practice, but also feel the deep thinking behind his words that "the way of medicine is the way of life." For TCM scholars and those who love traditional medicine, this set of works is a door to classics, practice and thinking changes.
