Song Jiang, Stop Grinding! I'll Bring Shaolin to Save the Water Margin

Xu Jing, Shaolin’s chief disciple, is utterly disillusioned after the abbot is investigated for corruption. But during a thunderstorm in the Scripture Pavilion, he unexpectedly transmigrates into the world of Water Margin. A die-hard fan who knows the original story by heart, he sees the 108 heroes headed for certain death and resolves to rewrite this tragedy! With Shaolin’s 72 Supreme Arts in one hand and the entire Water Margin plot in the other, Xu Jing outmaneuvers the story from the start: he gets to Lu Zhishen first, steers him clear of the Wutai Mountain fiasco, and sends him straight to Erlong Mountain. At the Wild Boar Forest, he saves Lin Chong with a single-finger technique; at Feiyunpu, he protects Wu Song with his kasaya and subdues demons. He even saves Hu Sanniang’s entire family in advance, wresting half the heroes from the ever-competitive Song Jiang! Song Jiang cries, “Uphold justice in Heaven’s name!” and gathers the righteous at Liangshan. Xu Jing declares, “Protect loyalty and righteousness,” and establishes his stronghold at Erlong Mountain. Thus begins a clash between two great leaders, 54 against 54! While Song Jiang recruits generals and holds court in the Hall of Righteous Gathering, Xu Jing trains Arhat formations and keeps the heroes safe. Song Jiang follows the original story, while Xu Jing quietly eliminates hidden dangers: he foils Gao Qiu’s schemes ahead of time, teaches Lin Chong the Bodhi Heart Method to quell his anger, helps An Daoquan escape romantic entanglements, and combines Gongsun Sheng’s Taoist arts with Shaolin Buddhist cultivation to make them even more powerful. There are no brothers turning against one another and no trap of imperial amnesty. With Shaolin wisdom and a modern way of thinking, Xu Jing competes with Song Jiang in a “friendly” race for talent while quietly paving the way for all 108 heroes to meet a happy end. In the end, the two leaders join forces to accept amnesty. Liangshan’s iron cavalry and Shaolin formations sweep across the land, corrupt officials are purged, and the people prosper. The Northern Song not only avoids the Jingkang Disaster, but also expands its territory and enters a golden age! This is a redemption journey where everyone survives, and an epic tale of two great leaders joining forces to strengthen their nation. Song Jiang, stop competing already! Follow Shaolin’s chief disciple, give every Water Margin hero a happy ending, and take the Great Song straight to unprecedented heights!
