A Taiji Sect Leader’s Convenience Store Diary

At three in the morning, a 24-hour convenience store in the city is home to two remarkable people. By day, Lin Ye seems like a night-shift clerk with astonishingly fast hands. In truth, he's the 38th-generation successor to the Taiji sect, on the run from his inheritance. He can use Taiji push hands to straighten the shelves and lightness skills to chase down thieves, but whenever he gets nervous, he accidentally hits customers' laughing points. The other is Su Xiaotang, a 996 office worker who survives on oden and coffee. She's a master of snark and hopelessly bad with directions, yet she can't help meddling in the store's "business."

After an oden broth spill, Su Xiaotang catches Lin Ye performing his "yoga skills." While investigating "the missing ten minutes," she also discovers his health-conscious habit of practicing Taiji in the little garden. When a Taiji sect leader meets an overworked office worker, using lightness skills to snatch crawfish becomes a new kind of date, and acupressure first aid turns into a legendary convenience-store scene. Even when his senior sect brothers show up to force him back into line, a brilliant joke about sorting the trash saves the day. Lin Ye gets so nervous he hits Su Xiaotang's laughing point by mistake, leaving her doubled over at the checkout while still managing to tease him: "Are you an idiot?"

From fish balls and afterimages in the convenience store, to morning light and Taiji in the little garden, and then to opening a "Taiji Leisure Teahouse" together, this is a funny and heartwarming story about a "runaway sect leader" leaving the martial world behind and an "overworked office girl" saying goodbye to the 996 grind. In the warmth of everyday city life, they reach for cherry blossoms with lightness skills, simmer porridge with inner power, and write a love story with snark. It turns out the best martial world isn't a sect leader's seat, but someone warming up fish balls for you at three in the morning and watching the sunset with you in the evening.
