My Own Swordsman: Surviving the Bitter Cold at Tongfu Inn

An icy apocalypse descends, turning Qixia Town into a wasteland! The doors and windows of the Happy Inn are barred shut. Tong Xiangyu, Bai Zhantang, Lu Xiucai, and three others, along with “the government’s inside man,” Constable Xing, switch into extreme survival mode!

When disaster strikes, the Thief Saint sneaks out at night to “borrow” supplies, Guo Furong uses force to haggle, Xiucai’s abacus keeps everything in order, and the constable secretly taps the government warehouses to stockpile supplies like crazy! With the cold sealing them indoors, the inn becomes a whirlwind of laughter and tears: food fights break out every day, lectures on the Four Books and Five Classics compete with paper-cutting contests to stave off boredom, and the constable even investigates the “missing pickles case” to maintain order!

They find ways to survive against all odds, using their inner strength for heat and growing vegetables with hydroponics. Their bonds deepen as they face life and death, and the constable transforms from a government officer into a protector of his family! In the final expedition, all seven play their part and fight their way to dawn for one another!

The world recovers, but nothing warms the heart like a lantern at the inn. It turns out the most moving happiness isn’t about saving the world, but about weathering the winter together and preserving this little corner of everyday life! Goodness gracious, this apocalypse survival story is both such a tearjerker and such a delight to ship!
