The Miracle Doctor Xilai Le in the Modern World

At the end of the Qing dynasty, the miracle doctor Xilaile is framed by villains. Just as he falls off a cliff, he unexpectedly travels through time, his soul possessing the body of Lin Fan, a poor student from a family of traditional Chinese medicine practitioners in 2020. Lin Fan was known as the “bottom of the class” at Jiangnan University of Chinese Medicine. After losing consciousness in an accident, he wakes up with Xilaile’s extraordinary medical skills.

On arriving in the modern era, he is overwhelmed by phones, the internet, and skyscrapers. His family even thinks he has lost his mind because of his “nonsensical talk” and “strange behavior.” At a critical moment, the Ancient and Modern Medical Sages System activates, helping him unite the medicine of both eras.

From then on, Lin Fan uses Xilaile’s seemingly miraculous methods of observation, listening and smelling, inquiry, and palpation, along with lost prescriptions and acupuncture techniques, to make a name for himself at medical school. He cures bizarre illnesses that stump modern medicine. He relieves a classmate’s acute menstrual cramps with “a bowl of brown sugar water” and astonishes everyone with his bone-setting techniques, all while outwitting professors who look down on him and classmates jealous of his talent.

Along the way, he meets Su Xue, a cool and headstrong senior student who is the campus beauty, and Qin Xue, the fiery, outspoken daughter of a hospital director. He navigates a tangle of mismatched romances, yet remains steadfast in his longing for his wife from his original era, Hu Suhua. Using the System to learn about finance, he invests in antiques, amasses a staggering fortune, and establishes a traditional Chinese medicine foundation to bring the practice to the world.

At the Global Traditional Chinese Medicine Conference, Lin Fan cures a foreign head of state’s chronic illness with his Golden Needle Acupoint Technique, bringing glory to his country and earning the recognition of his family and the world. He also finds a girl who looks just like the modern-day Hu Suhua and rekindles their romance. At last, he uncovers the century-old conspiracy behind his transmigration and perfectly unites the medical wisdom of the past and present.
