I Become Heshen in the Qing Dynasty

[Transmigrated as a Minister: I Am He Shen]

After waking up, a modern elite finds himself transmigrated into the body of He Shen, the Qianlong Emperor's most notorious corrupt official! Facing the fate of having his home confiscated, he makes a vow: this time, he will not only amass a fortune greater than the nation, but also wield power over the entire court and rewrite the history books!

From the start, he is plunged into hell mode. The Kangxi Emperor travels incognito, while Ji Xiaolan watches him like a hawk. Yet with his “foreknowledge” of the plot and modern way of thinking, he turns certain doom around: the Shuntian Prefect sells offices and titles? One ledger makes him the emperor's trusted confidant. A massive copper mine corruption case? His theory of “economic leverage” leaves the emperor, hailed for the ages, in awe.

But this defiant path is destined to be fraught with twists and turns:

The Kangxi Emperor uses him, yet keeps him at arm's length: “His talent is unmatched across the ages; his mind is unfathomable.”

Ji Xiaolan clashes with him over their principles: “He Shen's methods may solve an urgent problem, but they are like drinking poison to quench one's thirst, and they undermine the foundations of our dynasty!”

And his weaknesses and armor lie with the women who have captured his heart:

The gifted Su Qinglian, whom he rescued, draws the attention of both Kangxi and Ji Xiaolan, who seek to use her as a pawn to keep him in check;

The assassin Saisai arrives on imperial orders, torn between loyalty and love;

Mary, a Western missionary, brings new knowledge, yet sets off a mighty upheaval in the clash of Chinese and Western ideas;

Yunshang, his childhood sweetheart, is the one person who remains true to his original self, yet she becomes the most vulnerable bargaining chip in the struggle for power...

At this crossroads in history, will he become the powerful minister second only to The Outcast, or a ruthless warlord who seizes the nation's fate? Discover how a modern soul forges a completely different golden path through the magnificent Qing Dynasty!
