The Plot of Phoenix Stage

The chivalrous Ling Cangcang (played by Peng Xiaoran) founded the Fenglai Pavilion, a sect devoted to upholding justice, with her righteous heart and skill at winning against the odds. Xiao Huan (played by Ren Jialun), the young emperor of the Southern Qi dynasty, is devoted to serving the people. But the chief minister and his allies in the martial world have seized control of the court and brought misery to the common folk. To save the people from suffering, Xiao Huan takes the assumed name Bai Chifan and travels incognito through the martial world, where he meets Ling Cangcang, the justice-loving leader of Fenglai Pavilion. The two roam the land with swords in hand, punishing the wicked and protecting the innocent. They admire one another, never suspecting that Ling Cangcang is the chief minister's daughter and is about to become Xiao Huan's empress. Faced with turmoil in the martial world and suffering among the people, the high-minded Xiao Huan and Ling Cangcang join forces to restore order, provide disaster relief, and punish corruption. As they work to improve the people's lives, they also rediscover their original dream of wielding their swords in the martial world and find their purpose: shouldering the burden of justice and giving their all for the people, helping them live in peace and prosperity so the land may be safe and all may live in harmony.
