In the isolated modern city of Silent City, an ancient legend persists: there are supernatural beings known as "Connoisseurs" who feed on humanity's "extreme emotions" and compose eternal symphonies from them. Once every hundred years, they descend upon a place to hold a "Feast of Gluttony." This time, Silent City is the stage for their grand banquet.
A string of bizarre, inexplicable murders shakes the city. The victims' bodies have been partially "refined": some are displayed like works of art, while others are reconstructed into grotesque forms. Forensic examiner Chen Mo discovers that every victim experienced extreme terror, elation, or pain shortly before death, as if some entity had "drained" their emotions.
