I Am a Judge in the Great Qing

After transmigrating into Ruyi, the first case she faces is an accusation that she used witchcraft to curse the emperor.

The evidence is conclusive? There are witnesses and physical evidence?

Ruyi turns the case around in court: “The evidence was obtained illegally, and the chain of custody is broken. Under the principle that the accused must be acquitted when guilt is uncertain, the charge does not stand.”

From then on, she rewrites the rules of the Forbidden City.

Concubines fighting? Let the evidence speak! Missing valuables? Investigate the scene! Poisoning and framing? Chemical analysis!

When the entire imperial harem is operating by her rules, Qianlong finally demands, “Who are you, really?”

Ruyi meets his searching gaze. “Your Majesty, I am the one who safeguards the order of the realm through the law.”
