Enlightenment at Qingxuan Temple: Slaying Evil on the Path

Lin Xuanzhen never imagined that a hexagram of Obstruction he drew at Qingxuan Temple would tear open a secret hidden for twenty years. The inexplicable burning in his palm, the blue-black waterlogged evil that seeped through the cracks in the walls, the mysterious girl Su Qingxuan who appeared out of nowhere, and the fragment in her hand that matched the markings at the base of his thumb all pointed to the strange disappearance of his grandfather, Lin Shouxuan. The two halves of the Yin-Yang Xuanzhen Seal represent yin and yang. The matching meridians that let them read shifting patterns and sense spiritual energy leave him with no choice but to get caught up in an exorcism operation spanning two generations. From subduing the waterlogged evil that breeds in the damp to investigating the soul-devouring fiend that once threw Qingxuan Temple into turmoil, Lin Xuanzhen gradually understands: his grandfather’s “long journey” was a lie, the temple’s peace was an illusion, and the burning in his palm is not only the power to suppress evil, but also the key to uncovering the truth. When the marks of the hexagram reflect the fragment’s faint glow and the Xuanzhen Mantra awakens his dormant spiritual meridians, Lin Xuanzhen and Su Qingxuan join forces amid the evil energy festering at Qingxuan Temple. As they search for the truth behind his grandfather’s disappearance, he grows through his pursuit of the Dao. He slays evil spirits, but what he comes to understand is the mission passed down through his bloodline, and the righteous path of humanity hidden in the patterns of heaven and earth.
