Journey to the West: I Just Want to Lie Flat, So Stop Making Trouble

Li Fan transmigrates into the Journey to the West world and becomes a menial sweeper on Mount Lingtai Fangcun.

He awakens the [Carefree System]. As long as he keeps a low profile and stays out of trouble, he can grow stronger in peace.

So he takes in a few disciples who seem just as "harmless," opens a little teahouse at the foot of the mountain, and spends his days telling them stories from Shrouding the Heavens and Perfect World, just to pass the time.

His motto in life is: Keep a low profile, don't make waves, and living until the end of Journey to the West is a victory!

However, with the calamity of Journey to the West looming, just as Li Fan is about to dismiss his disciples and run for his life, he discovers...

His junior sister, who pesters him all day to tell stories, has returned to the Women's Kingdom, where she ascends the throne and vows to Heaven: "I shall become the Heavenly Emperor and suppress every enemy in the world!"

His honest, woodcutter senior disciple grabs his axe and heads straight for the Celestial Court: "My son Wang Teng has the makings of a Great Emperor?! I reckon I do too!"

Even the orange cat he keeps, always dozing off, swats the Azure Lion of Lion Camel Ridge into the air with one paw, then looks down on all creation: "Three million sword immortals above the heavens, and every one of them must bow their heads before me!"

Mount Lingshan is shaken, the Celestial Court is dumbfounded, and all the gods and Buddhas stare at the completely derailed Eighty-One Tribulations, lost in thought.

Li Fan looks at the countless immortals and Buddhas who have come knocking, then at his disciples behind him, all rubbing their hands and itching for a fight. His vision goes dark.

"It's over! I really just want to lie flat. Stop making me the lead in your drama!"
