The Lonely Brocade Palace

In this cannibalistic harem, having no favor from the emperor is a sin in itself. Xiao Mingyue, born to a concubine, knows this all too well. She turns her flawless memory into her sharpest weapon, laying one deadly trap after another at greeting ceremonies and in the gifts bestowed upon her.

From an Answering Lady anyone could trample to a Noble Consort who holds the harem in her sway, she climbs over a graveyard of betrayal and sacrifice, convinced that only absolute power can control her fate. But when she finally has the entire harem in her grasp, she discovers in the lonely Palace of Compassion and Tranquility that she has become the loneliest piece on the board, and the one with no way out.

Winner takes all? No. In this game played behind vermilion walls, the wager has always been your own soul.
