Fate Brought Us Together: A Long-Distance Love Between a Writer and a Nurse

Fate Brought Us Together: A Long Love Story Between a Writer and a Nurse tells a modern romance that begins in awkwardness and ends in deep devotion. Lin Haiqing, a 32-year-old online novelist who keeps odd hours and lets himself go, is driven into the world of blind dates when his mother threatens to cut ties with him. Su Xiaohun, a 29-year-old ICU head nurse who is rational, composed, and disciplined, reluctantly agrees to a date to escape her parents’ matchmaking pressure. They take an instant dislike to each other: he is sloppy and carefree, while she is meticulous and sharp-tongued. Yet, with no other choice, they agree to pretend to be dating.

But what was supposed to be an act to appease their parents quietly changes as they spend more and more time together. When he stays up late writing, she brings him warm milk. When she finishes a late-night shift, he waits for her outside the hospital. Two people from different worlds gradually become part of each other’s lives, and then each other’s hearts. From clashing over their professions to finding a deep connection, from a pretend couple to true love, they face an entangled ex, family pressure, and the challenges of raising children together. Through the noisy warmth of life with four daughters, they come to understand that love is not the romance of love at first sight, but the steadfast devotion that grows over time.

This is a story of destined love, of two people brought together by fate, and a long romance that begins with a blind date but goes far beyond one.
