A Haze of Truth

Amid the rapid changes of the Information Age, the venerable newspaper The Urban Eye is plunged into crisis by the clash between old and new media. Qin Yi'an faces one conflict after another while investigating a hot-button social issue, while Song Xiyue uses innovative tactics to engineer a viral sensation, only to become embroiled in an ethical dispute with her tip-off team. Li Wuya navigates the narrow space between opposing sides. Lan Zhiquan tries to introduce AI recommendations and an information-filtering system, but runs into an ethical dilemma with her peers. He Xiuyuan takes on both the self-media and traditional camps, pushing issues into the spotlight only to be consumed by the traffic machine. Under pressure to reform the institution, Zou Peilin works alongside internet celebrity streamer Lin Shiran and watches public opinion lose its way. As these storylines converge, journalistic ideals collide with power and commerce, before everything is rebuilt from scratch and belief is restored. A battle over truth and information unfolds in a witty, razor-sharp portrait of urban life.
