Tales of a Street Hero

In a chaotic age, two ordinary street fellows, Du Ergou and his sworn brother Feng Pangpang, happen upon Lu Xiaoyu, a reclusive swordswoman, and get drawn into the feuds of martial arts sects and power struggles at court. The three joke and bicker their way through one life-or-death crisis after another, meet the clever old Daoist Su, and grow into a band of grassroots heroes. The villain Qin Wuhua is driven by ambition and constantly lays traps, but the cleverness and humor of the main cast always help them slip through unscathed. In the end, they join forces with righteous martial artists to foil a conspiracy threatening the troubled age and protect ordinary people’s peace. The three volumes focus respectively on growing up and forming a team, martial-world mysteries and the overthrow of those in power, and the final battle and retreat from the world. Humorous and fast-paced yet heartfelt and uplifting, the story ends with the entire cast returning to ordinary life with calm hearts, completing an unconventional heroic tale of the martial world in troubled times.
