Building a Nation Live, Leaving the Ancestors Stunned
I’m codenamed Xinhuo, and I’ve been tasked with livestreaming five thousand years of Chinese history to a parallel world. I never expected the livestream to connect to real history!
When Qin Shi Huang, the First Emperor of the Ages, sees the Great Wall still standing after thousands of years, tears fill his tiger eyes as he types in the comments: “My Great Qin has not fallen!” When the young general Huo Qubing sees that the place where later generations commemorated his victory has been named Champion County, he sits astride his horse with saber in hand and laughs heartily! When Li Bai, the Immortal of Poetry, sees the Shenzhou spacecraft soaring beyond the heavens, he sings drunkenly: “Now this is what it means for a roc to rise on the wind!”
At first, I thought this was just a cultural promotion campaign. Then, one day, when foreign enemies provoked us, I livestreamed an aircraft carrier fleet setting out to battle. In an instant, the comments across all of history were flooded with one line after another: “Valiant Qin, march together to face the nation’s peril!” “Those who offend our mighty Han shall be executed, no matter how far away!” Only then did I understand: I wasn’t livestreaming history, but the undying torch and glory of an entire civilization!

I wrote a lot and then deleted it, it's hard to say it all 🙂
