Water Margin: Reborn as Lu Qian, I Lead Lin Chong in Revolt!

(The style is quite different from Water Margin, so don’t read this if that bothers you!) I transmigrated into Water Margin and became Lu Qian, Lin Chong’s sworn enemy, the man who would ruin him! Seeing Lin Chong nearby, still treating me like a brother, I remembered how the original story had me ruin his family, leave him broken by a snowy night at the fodder depot, and end with all of Liangshan accepting amnesty and meeting untimely deaths, while the Jin armies trampled the Central Plains. A cold sweat ran down my back. Who’d want to play the villain in this story? I was going to defy fate and change my destiny! I’d flatter Gao Qiu to his face while secretly foiling his schemes to frame Lin Chong; I’d warn Lin Chong in secret, help him protect his family, and steer him clear of death. And I’d plan ahead, recruit the heroes before Song Jiang could, and take Liangshan with Lin Chong to build a stronghold! Train elite troops, stockpile provisions, and turn Liangshan into an impregnable fortress. Refuse amnesty and resist the Jin armies, so the humiliation of the Jingkang era would never happen! When Lin Chong raised his spear and clasped his hands toward me, saying, “Brother Lu, you’re the real hero!” I waved him off. “I wouldn’t call myself a hero. I just don’t want my brothers dying unjustly again!”
