Only later does she learn that she's a rare, once-in-ten-thousand-years Xuan Yin body, the only offering capable of calming the living sacrificial formation that is Qiyuan.
And more than that, she's the wife he has been trapped without for a century.
Now she's the one making the rules at Qiyuan:
