A Long Night Beneath the Stars

[Youthful Heartache + Campus Crush + Based on a True Story + A Woman's Personal Growth] Lin Wanxing thought Jiang Yu was annoying at first, but gradually discovered his gentle side. Growing up, her parents taught her to be independent and sensible, to give way to others like Kong Rong, and never to cause anyone trouble. Only later did she understand: “Giving way like Kong Rong” meant surrendering her own rights, while “not causing trouble” meant letting her life become a mess. It took her years to hear what was hidden behind all those lessons “for her own good”: they were all about making things more convenient for someone else. She didn't want to be that foolish girl who always “gave up the pear” anymore, nor did she want to remain an invisible person who caused “no trouble.” She was going to speak up, unapologetically “cause trouble,” and live wildly and wholeheartedly for once, imperfections and all! This is a story about healing the wounds left by one's family of origin and overcoming avoidant attachment. But salvation doesn't come from love. It comes from being completely honest with yourself.
