The Azure Phoenix Dances Above the Cloud Palace

I am Shen Jinglan, the sharpest blade in the emperor’s hand, tasked with cutting down the corrupt officials at court. Gu Qingxian, the female chief councilor who rose to power on the strength of her family, is my next target.

I led the Luan Shadow Guards to search her home, but she simply handed me a cup of tea. “Commander Shen, the emperor you serve is the mastermind behind all of this.”

I obeyed the imperial order and sent her to prison, but she whispered in my ear, “Jinglan, the country you’re protecting is rotten to its core.”

Later, I saw the emperor grant poisoned wine to the loyal sisters under my command.

That day, drenched in blood, I stormed into the prison and shattered her chains.

“Gu Qingxian,” I rasped, “that new path you spoke of… I’ll walk it with you.”

With the world as their board and their hearts as their wager, watch these two women topple a decaying dynasty!
