Yuanyuan Crosses Into the Modern Age: Mr. Shen’s Ancient Childhood Sweetheart

As for the main characters, the ancient heroine should have an identity that creates a strong contrast, such as a princess. She should be gentle but resilient, so she can fit into modern life while having a cute adjustment period. The male lead could be a gentle modern man, perhaps a designer. This would create work-related interactions, like the heroine watching him draw and growing curious. The supporting cast should include the male lead's family, such as his parents and younger sister; the heroine's maid from ancient times, who could transmigrate with her to create more interaction and comedy; the male lead's friend, who helps their relationship along; a friend the heroine makes in the modern world, such as a neighbor who helps her adapt; and a gentle older figure, such as the male lead's grandmother, to add warmth. That makes eight characters in all, each with a distinct role: family members provide everyday settings, the maid creates humorous contrasts between ancient and modern life, friends help the romance along, and the older relative adds a cozy touch.
