Reborn Educated Youth Hunting in the Great Northern Wilderness

In an instant, heaven and earth turned upside down.

Li Yanzhi, a leading wildlife researcher, was still operating a drone in the dense forests on the northern slopes of the Qinling Mountains, tracking takins and analyzing data streams in the cloud. The next second, the crackle of electrical interference tore reality apart. He jolted awake to find himself curled up aboard a clattering old green train.

The year was 1969.

He had become Lin Jianjun, an educated youth dressed in coarse homespun clothes, carrying only corn buns to fill his stomach and a ration booklet stamped with the red marks that meant the difference between life and death. His destination was the bitterly cold yet hopeful Beidahuang. His new identity was a member of the hunting team in the Production and Construction Corps, with a monthly quota of two jin of red-stamped ration grain and five bullets.

The barriers of modern technology had come crashing down. GPS, thermal imaging, animal behavior databases… every skill he had depended on was useless. He would have to shed the trappings of civilization and relearn the most primitive rules of survival in this wilderness of prowling beasts and raging blizzards.

Could Lin Jianjun find his footing between rifle and snare, relying on his knowledge and perspective from another era, as he faced an experienced but taciturn old hunter, dismissive companions, and the sharp conflict between policy and survival?

From prey to hunter, from stranger to native. This is an epic tale of survival, growth, and putting down roots, as a modern soul is tempered and reborn in the great currents of history.

The black soil is silent, but all things have a spirit. Will his gun be aimed at survival, or protection?
