The Variety Show’s Dark Horse: A Three-Year-Old Cutie Becomes a Top-Tier Star!

Who would have thought an orphan would “steal the spotlight” in the sixth episode of A Beautiful Day? Chen Yangyang shows up with a forest ranger’s handbook tucked under his arm, hiding in the attic, and immediately sends the livestream audience numbers soaring! But this kid has more than a story to tell. He’s got cheat-level skills, too: He teaches himself to row, then gives the professionals a lesson in boating. While the celebrities fumble around planting trees, he reminds them, “Loosen the twine, or the saplings will turn yellow.” When Chef Huang tests his lines, Yangyang hears them once and corrects his delivery, even reciting the English lines from memory. He recites lines from The Kangxi Dynasty so well he leaves students from the Beijing Film Academy in the dust, and even outsmarts the show’s production team. What makes him so endearing is the contrast between his warm heart and his toughness. He clutches The Little Prince and says he’s three and a half, then secretly helps Chef Huang wash his dirty clothes. He’s afraid the goose will be eaten, so he protects “Big White,” yet he dares to challenge a fisherman to a rowing race. From a timid orphan to the celebrities’ cherished “little group treasure,” from an unexpected bonus of a variety show to a “talented little sprout” who catches Director Mou’s eye, the adorable kid has long since taken center stage from the celebrities!
