I'm Humanity's Savior

I was once a carefree little immortal. After I knocked over my master’s glass cup, I was punished by being sent to the human realm to complete an absurd task: save all living beings. Then the strange Book of Mortal Lives opened before me. Behind names like Li Hao, Zhang Sheng, and Zhang Rong were their fated deaths and tragedies. It turned out that the people I was meant to save were these geniuses and stars, like meteors about to fall.

And so I became the busiest “savior” in the human realm:

At a film set, I had to find the real bullet before the prop gun went off.

On a deserted road at night, I had to stop a runaway car before it crashed.

At the edge of depression’s abyss, I tried to warm one despairing heart after another with a faint glimmer of hope.

I thought this was merely a trial to atone for my mistakes. Then I discovered that every life I saved cost me a portion of my immortal power, while new names kept appearing in the Book of Mortal Lives... It was as if an invisible hand were playing a game of life and death against me. Only when the ultimate truth was revealed did I understand that my enemy was not fate, but the being who had created it. The human realm, it turned out, was the greatest punishment of all, and also the deepest redemption.
